18:00 - 20:00

Citim, 136 Rue Adolphe Fischer, 1521 Luxembourg, Luxemburg

The CELL x CITIM Climate Justice Book Club is a space for reading, reflection, and community. Through books, we explore the connections between climate change, social justice, and the world around us.

Our encounters are not just about learning through reading—but about sharing ideas, listening to different understandings, and thinking together about how we can respond to the challenges of our time.

Whether you’re deeply involved in climate work or just beginning to explore these issues, you’re welcome here.

METHOD

Unlike other book clubs, the idea here is not read the book i in advance and meet up for a discussion. Instead, we want to focus on being present when reading and taking some time to slow down.

When we meet, we will cut up a book and divide it among ourselves. Larger chunks for those who read faster, or are already more informed about the subject, and shorter parts for those that simply want to immerse themselves for a little while. After an hour, everyone provides the group with a summary of their part before discussing things together.

This is known as “arpentage”. It is a method of reading originated in the 19th century Italian workers’ circles. This popular education values accessibility, collective knowledge, and open conversation.
