Faced with the major challenges of industrial standardisation and the erosion of crop biodiversity, Luxembourg is seeing the emergence of a collective and participatory movement for agricultural resilience.
As such, SOS Faim, CELL and SEED are delighted to invite you to the official opening of the Maison des Semences.

Supported by our three organisations, this new physical space in Teranga serves as a strategic hub dedicated to the conservation, distribution and promotion of local seeds. This event will provide an opportunity to discuss the challenges of food sovereignty, the preservation of living organisms and agricultural self-sufficiency in the Luxembourg and European contexts.

PROGRAMME FOR SATURDAY 14 NOVEMBER 2026
11.00 am: ‘Germination rate’ workshop. Participants will learn how to test seed viability, what the quality indicators are, and how to maximise the chances of success for future sowings.
12.30 pm: Opening ceremony & a unique seed-themed lunch.
1.30 pm: Talk: ‘The concept of the Seed House’ – Vision, mission, societal impact, seed quality, changes in legislation…
2.30 pm – 4.00 pm: Seed exchanges and donations, seed cleaning and discussions
