Community Climate Coaches

Initiative phase: Closed

Europe wide partnership which aims to develop a system to train, support and enable Community Climate Coaches (CCC) across Europe

Community Climate Coaches

CCC is an exciting program to train, support and enable Community Climate Coaches (CCCs) across Europe. During this project You have the possibility to engage in a personal CCC training and to attend CCC events in person and on-line.

Dissemination activities across the partnership’s extensive networks will provide benefits and access to the CCC project outputs, tools, good practices and to a great amount of references.

The purpose of the Community Climate Coaches project is to build and activate a Climate Coach practitioner network and movement for enabling and catalysing action-oriented, dialogue-based processes and pathways to resilience and regeneration.

The CCC Network will be active within, between and across communities through localisation of positive climate actions that feature inclusivity.

It will work with both the mainstream and the margins, integrating inner work and outer work, and identifying the conditions and levers for change

CCC Training session 1

Training Session 1 - growing personal resilience and capacities

The first phase of the ‘CCC Resilience Pathway’ consists of acquiring a global understanding of the context and causes of the current ecological and climatic situation, while cultivating personal resilience and developing the ability to manage complexity.

Objectives: To strengthen our ability to manage complexity and build an inner resilience that enables us to remain present, balanced and exhilarated in the face of individual challenges. This process is essential for developing the inner capacity to collaborate with others, bring about change and meet the challenges of the journey ahead.

4 cross-cutting themes are addressed in the first training phase

1. Where are we now? How did we get here?

2. How can we improve our own thinking to meet today's challenges?

3. How can we cultivate personal resilience in times of change?

4. What are my capabilities and how can I contribute to change?

The CCC project partners are a mix of larger networks of community-led initiatives and smaller adult education providers. They have complementary expertise in community resilience, social innovation, collaborative working and climate action.

Participation opportunities

We offer a number of participation activities for individuals and groups who want to engage into climate action with their community. You do not need to be a professional coach to engage into the programm. You can be designing urban gardens, facilitating climate assemblies, hosting repair cafés, running ecosystem restoration camps or decolonization workshops. Equally you might support a community to generate and implement its own community climate action plan or community resilience plan.
