"Iessbar Stad" in Wiltz
The initiative "Iessbar Stad" in Wiltz is made up of citizens from the region. They pursue the vision of using and transforming the urban areas in Wiltz for planting useful plants instead of ornamental plants.
In the first steps, the group has already started to plant raised beds on two sites made available by the municipality of Wiltz. These sites are to be handed over to the general public so that neighbours, colleagues and schools from the neighbouring buildings can use these raised beds for planting and, of course, also for care and harvesting.
Another step is a community garden, which is planned for this summer. Again, much of the planning and work will be done by the group members. The Uewersauer Nature Park and the municipality of Wiltz are supporting this large-scale project.

The project is supported by Reconomy Wiltz, the municipality of Wiltz, MECDD, Transition Nord and CELL.
Participation opportunities
The initiative is looking for people from the region who are not only interested in working in the gardens, but would also like to use them themselves to grow food there in the future.
Meetings are held every Tuesday from 2 p.m.

The aim is to promote the cultivation of food in urban areas and to create a place where citizens can garden in the community. In addition, the community garden should help to rethink one's own food supply and raise awareness against food waste.
